Milton Marks AIDS files, 1983-1992.

The collection consists of Milton Marks's files on the AIDS epidemic, accumulated during his tenure as California State Senator from San Francisco. It provides a view onto communications between the Senator's office and AIDS-related committees and task forces, local community-based organizations, the medical and academic communities, and city, state, and federal agencies and offices; as well as documenting the Senator's role in addressing the emergence of AIDS. Types of material include correspondence, newsletters, clippings, brochures, fliers, reports, workshop materials, minutes, press releases, briefings, project proposals, strategic plans, legislative drafts, and other publications and papers. Most documents are addressed to Marks and/or to Chris Bowman (Christopher L. Bowman), Marks' administrative aide from 1983-1986.
